4800 West Roadway
4800 West Roadway connected 10200 South and Skye Drive over Bingham Creek; providing a more direct north to south route for the Glenmore and Daybreak communities of South Jordan City. The roadway is approximately 4,230 feet in length. Proterra provided a re-vegetation plan, planting plan, and irrigation design for the parkstrips and other disturbed landscape areas.

Riverfront Park - Fish Ponds Landscape Improvements
The South Jordan City Fish Ponds provides an outdoor experience for its city residents. Proterra provided the landscape and irrigation construction drawings for the approximately 5 acre site. We kept most of the project site in it’s natural landscape form manipulating only some areas with landscape berms. This gave the landscape form and character to provide areas for privacy and exploration.

10000 South Roadway Widening
10th South Road Widening project was a joint effort between Sandy City and South Jordan City. We had to coordinate with both City’s and UTA (a trax line also crosses this roadway) to take a two lane road and widen it to five-lane arterial roadway. This is one entrance to South Jordan City and they requested that we visually screen the unsightly detention pond to the south. We placed the City’s entrance sign and planted an evergreen hedge to accommodate their landscape request.

South Jordan City Round About
The South Jordan City Round About located at 11200 South 2700 West is placed over an active aqueduct line. Proterra provided the landscape and irrigation design for this project. The project goals were to visually screen the above ground components of the aqueduct line and to bring year-round color to the area.

Solameer Townhomes
Solameer Townhomes located at 13400 South 5200 West in Herriman, Utah has a great view of the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine to the west and the Rocky Mountains to the east, is a two-phase townhome project with 232 townhome units (52 buildings, a club house and pool) on a 12 acre site. Proterra was asked to provide the landscape and irrigation design. The high density on this project created a fun challenge to keep the landscape simple while still softening and creating a human scale within the development.

Ridgeview Apartments Phase II
The Ridgeview Apartments are located at 140 South Main in North Salt Lake. This development consisted of 4 buildings with 48 dwelling units and a clubhouse. The site had some significant land challenges; it was situated between two major roadways, Highway 89 and Interstate 15. The site also had a forty-foot elevation change across the project site. Many retaining walls were used to make the site acceptable for the apartment style units. The necessary retaining walls helped give the landscape character; as we softened building edges with plantings which provide color and visual interest year-round.

Wilshire Place Apartments
Wilshire Place Apartments located at 6400 West and New Bingham Highway in West Jordan consists of 278 apartment units (18 buildings, 5 garage buildings, clubhouse, and pool) on an 18 acre site. Proterra was asked to provide landscape and irrigation design. Ornamental grasses were used extensively to create movement and visual interest in the landscape. Great care was taken to surround each building with a landscape planter using drip irrigation to keep water away from foundations in the collapsible soils located on the site.

Chamberlain Residence
The Chamberlains contacted Proterra to oversee the landscape construction of their backyard remodel. The site had some drainage problems after many years of small landscape projects being completed in their back yard. Proterra was able to mitigate the drainage problems, tie in all the small landscape projects done throughout the years and create simple landscape planters to maximize outdoor play areas for their children. New concrete mowstrips around the entire house really tied everything together for a complete landscape remodel.

Porter Residence
The Porters wanted to remodel the landscape on their existing Centerville home. After a couple of site visits and discussions with the owners, Proterra provided a landscape plan. We raised grade in the back yard providing a level playing area adjacent to the back patio with shade trees planted along the south and west borders to provide shade for evening activities. Proterra was responsible throughout the bidding process all the way through to completion.

Craig Residence
The Craigs purchased two subdivision lots in North Salt Lake. The lots had a substantial elevation change between them. The Craigs wanted to keep their gorgeous balcony view towards the valley, privacy from the neighboring lots, and to include many amenities for entertaining purposes into a functional design. The final design consisted of a water feature and sloping path that connected the two elevation differences, incorporating a pedestrian bridge over a small stream, a fire pit, swimming pool, and covered area for outdoor BBQ’s. The planned spaces work wonderfully for both large and small crowds.
